On the American Girl, we are dedicated to providing the freshest albacore tuna directly from our family-run vessel. Our mission is to connect seafood lovers with the highest quality fish, ensuring that every catch is delivered fresh and never frozen.

About American Girl Tuna
Our Story
Our family has been commercial fishing for over 50 years. In 2020, we built the American Girl. She is a 35' Duffy we transported from the East Coast and outfitted in our shop. She was put together specifically for fishing albacore on the West Coast. In 2021 our son Jeff took the initiative to start marketing our fish directly to the consumer, providing an extremely fresh product that is often difficult to find. We usually make 6-7 two day trips each summer and the last couple years all our fish have been sold directly off the boat.
We typically start the season sometime after the Fourth of July after the water starts warming up and the fish begin moving closer to land. We often fish through the end of September.
Ordering Guidelines
We take orders by text and phone only. If you want fish, contact us at 503-440-8072. This website will be updated when the the boat leaves for a fishing trip. All orders will be filled in the order they are received. When the boat is returning from a trip each person will be contacted to confirm their order. If you do not confirm, your fish will be sold to the next in line on the list. Our price this year will be $3.95/lb. We take cash only. Fish typically average 12-13 lbs. We will try to have loining service available at the fish cleaning station after each trip.
Fishing and Trip Report
The fishing has been spotty this year on our grounds near the Columbia River. We have made five trips with the fish size either being small or extremely large. Recently, the smaller fish have moved back in with most fish in the 8-10 pound range. There are big fish to the south of us so we're hopeful they'll move into the area during the next month. We'll be making 3 or 4 more trips to finish out the season. We'll keep fishing as long as we have people on our list wanting fish.
